Internal Timber Preservation – Sentrin Preserve LP
Low Pressure Protection
for Dry, Covered Applications
LOW-pressure preservative treatment
Sentrin Preserve LP is a factory-applied, vacuum and low-pressure preservative treatment for internal and weather-protected timber. Ideal for timber frame construction, roofing, and coated joinery, it provides long-term resistance to fungal decay and insect attack while preserving appearance and structural integrity.
WHY USE LOW PRESSURE TREAMENTMENT
Timber used in dry or semi-protected environments may not face constant moisture, but it's still at risk from hidden biological threats. Sentrin Preserve LP offers:
-
Effective protection without over-saturating the timber
-
Minimal moisture uptake, perfect for high-tolerance joinery
-
A clean, yellow-tinted finish to easily distinguish treated wood
-
Expected service life of over 60 years (Use Class 1 or 2)
WHERE IS IT USED?
Sentrin Preserve LP is designed for internal and protected timber applications, including:
-
Timber frame construction
-
Roof timbers and rafters
-
Internal flooring joists
-
Sole plates above DPC
-
Coated external joinery (windows, doors, soffits)
-
Moisture-resistant plywood (WBP)

THE PROCESS
Treatment Process
Our low-pressure process creates a protective “envelope” within the timber:
-
Timber is loaded into a sealed autoclave.
-
A vacuum is applied to extract air from the wood.
-
The vessel is flooded with water-based preservative.
-
Low pressure helps the preservative penetrate ~3mm deep.
-
A final vacuum removes excess solution, which is recycled.
-
Treated timber is dried under cover before dispatch.
This process takes 45–90 minutes, produces no waste, and helps ensure the timber retains its dimensional stability - ideal for use in precision applications
BENEFITS
Benefits at a Glance
Long Service Life
It can deliver a service life of over 60 years, reducing the need for replacement and lowering long-term maintenance costs.
Minimal Swelling
The low-pressure process limits moisture absorption, helping maintain tight tolerances in high-spec joinery and structural components.
Sustainable & Safe
Treated with water-based preservatives, Sentrin Preserve LP is environmentally responsible and poses no significant hazard when handled correctly.
Clean Appearance
The light yellow tint helps easily identify treated timber without heavily altering its natural look. It’s ideal for internal framing and joinery where finish and visual consistency still matter.
Aftercare and Reworking
AFTERCARE & REWORKING
-
If cutting or drilling, apply cut-end preservative to exposed areas.
-
Avoid re-machining where possible. If required, re-treat to the original spec.
-
Store in well-ventilated, unwrapped stacks to allow drying and avoid mould.
-
Avoid use near drinking water or where preservative could enter food/feed.
